The final week of EE ended Sunday night with a finale of blessings. The 13 weeks have been long, sometimes annoying. Because of my often poor priorities and tight scheduling, most weeks are a test to see if I have the endurance to keep a good attitude through the end of the night, where I get to hear about what the Lord has been doing in the lives of all the trainees.
Well, the semester as a whole had that same trend it turned out. One of my trainees was struggling every week (partially due to my slacking in calling him) and I expected him to have alot of difficulty on our final exams. He's never shied away from talking to someone, and he helped make our team....balanced in personality :-) He nearly aced his presentation exam, doing better than I did a few years ago, and also kicked butt on his written exam. Bill, you rock! And I'm not just saying that because you're my inside connection to the unemployment office....but you are. Another perk to EE this week was that our graduation potluck has been moved to another day, which allows me to instead easily see one, maybe two shows that I probably shouldn't be going to that night.
After EE was another visit to the Rescue Mission. Mr. Hawkinson was leading worship this time, which was a new one for me. There are alot of folks who serve down at the mission, and it's an aspect of those people's service that we don't often get to see.
Mr. Hawkinson the younger is a friend at work who often takes walks with me around the building for a break. We'll talk about anything from original sin, to how annoying computers are, to how annoying women are. We've been on hiatus because of the weather. However, on my last day of work, I pulled alot of pity favors from people, just because I could.
Kinsey couldn't scold me for sassing her, and Dan had to take one last 15 minute walk with me around the building. It was actually alot of fun. I made him promise to take a walk every week this winter in memory of me. :-)
