The Joy Of The Lord Is Your Strength!

Scripture on my mind today.

Nehemiah 8:10b "This day is sacred to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength."

Galatians 6:9 "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."

The Lord encourages me to not be distracted by things in life that seem to go poorly or even terribly, but to focus, focus, and refocus on the work he has set me here for, and the people who so easily fall through the cracks while I wallow. What a weak-minded person am I. Distracted by the smallest....oooo look at the kitty.

Plans To Prosper You

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. - Jeremiah 29:11

I just got word that my friend Emily's adoption paperwork to adopt a little boy named Anh was made official before a critical deadline set by the Vietnamese government freezing all current adoptions to the United States.

Em is a dear friend from high school and college who has brightened my day so many times in the last decade. high school memories of Evan are not so pleasant as they involve me being pinned face first into a wrestling mat. :-)

Here is a link to her blog where you can see the progression of God's provision in her family's life, despite how we saw it with our eyes. Apparently, I'm pretty stubborn to have miracles like this take shape around me, and not expect God to prosper my own life (and others) in His timing.
