We shoved off shortly after 2pm today for Chicago.

I finally experienced getting stuck in Chicago highway traffic.

While at a stand still, the boys went digging for a Bible from the trunk to research some facts from Jed's Mt. Sinai video.

You can drive on the medians in this town! It's CRAZY!!

Awesome food at The Noodle Co.

You gotta be smarter than the silverware Sarah.

Waiting for the Metra.

Ridding the Metra (are you sick of pictures yet?)

"You go first." "No you go first"...

We couldn't figure out why Becky was saying she was at the same train station entrance as us, and yet was nowhere to be found. Eventually we discovered that we were simply on opposite sides of the street.

Almost there.

YEAH!, It's Becky!!

Becky is one of the most thoughful and tireless encouragers I know. After spending a long stint back in Peoria with her good friends, I think it's been tough being in Chicago this summer. I'm very glad that she gets to spend some quality time with friends for a couple of weekends...even if we do exhaust her!
We walked from Union Station to Lakeshore Dr.

The Taste of Chicago was going on the same day, so the waterfront was completely packed with people.

Plenty of potties to choose from.

Walked along the waterfront to find a good spot.

There it is!

We played Dutch Blitz until it was too dark to see the cards.

Yes, I was too lazy to move out of the way of this tree. It was still good.

Becky's shoes TOTALLY clashed with her outfit!

If you think the Peoria riverfront is crazy when the locals head out from the carnival rides, check out Chicago after fireworks. We walked by at least a hundred police officers, mostly in groups. There's a good reason why. At least two large fights broke out within 50 yards of us on the way back to Union station. I have some video but am having trouble getting them uploaded. Will post them later.

Sorry Mom. It was too cool (to me) to not post about it. I'm pretty sure Becky would protect us if a fight came our way.
POTBELLY!! Man, they're all over the place up here.

Mike and Ben got in and out of the Men's restroom before the ladies even got close to it.

The Gottemoller's have a cute little dog, Lulu. Very fun.

That's BenG, by the way. Becky is staying at his parent's house in a suburb of Chicago while she works her clinicals (like an internship for physical therapists) this summer. That is where we are staying as well. It is a GORGEOUS home. If you are coming up next weekend (let me know if you haven't gotten the invite) you will thoroughly enjoy it.
Today's itinerary includes the Woodfield mall, and a free Lifehouse concert near the mall.

I don't know about the video of a fight being cool but that's okay. I know I'm glad there was no internet or blogs when I was single and lived in New York. My parents would have come to get me long before I gave up and came home.
This makes me want to go! HEHE...
