Peanut butter flavored this year. Mmmmmmm. Interesting thing about Tilly is that she is the sweetest dog in the world, but with a few exceptions. We got her from PAWS with no history, and signs of some sort of abuse or an accident on one of her paws. A few things will set her off. I learned one of them when I leaned in for a kiss while she wasn't in the mood (life lesson about women...I...think...so). The resulting wound on my chin was supposed to be worth it since it pretty much looked like a totally awesome Harrison Ford chin scar. Stupid thing healed completely though. I don't know what's more disturbing - my desire to emulate Ford's chin, or the fact that some dermatologist actually has a site about big screen skin conditions. So anyway, what was I talking about? Oh ya, the other thing we've learned which will set her off, is trying to steal her bone. The picture above is the closest near death experience you will see today. Mom has gotten to the point where she can take the bones away though. No one messes with Mom!
My brother, Dad and I have a bad habit of chatting about computers or computer games during most family get togethers. I'm sure Mom LOVES it. But we had someone to add flavor to the discussion this year. My buddy Noah is not able to make it home for Thanksgiving because of a really annoying work schedule and inconvenient car troubles. So, he graciously accepted the offer to join us for the afternoon. Thanks Noah! It was very enjoyable.

I purchased at least 10 new shirts/sweaters last year at the end of winter, but which one did I wear yet again for a holiday event? Oy.
Oh MAN! There was TOTALLY some room left over by the white meat. Some waldorf salad would have easily fit in there! Mom wised up a little bit this year. For the last few years (ish...I don't recall how many) Mom has been preparing the entire Thanksgiving meal herself. Since they haven't been large family hooplas, it's not a big deal, but it's still alot of things to prepare at one time. She finally decided to delegate a couple things to Eric and me.
Bro brought the deviled eggs and I made a dessert. JUST a dessert you say? HO no. Million Dollar Oats'n Honey Granola Pie! Yes I saw it on Oprah - no I don't want to talk about it.With the likelihood of it being one of the nicest days we'll have in a while combined with the fact that it is unlikely I will be productive in ANYTHING else during my boring four day weekend, it seemed a good time for some yard work at the folk's house, both high and low.

The pie was delicious! Thanks for the recipe. We REALLY appreciated the gutter cleaning too. It was nice having you with us Noah. You did add some variety to the conversation.
