Equip Yo'self!

Bet you thought I was finally going to get around to posting about the Career Impact Winter Retreat didn't ya? Wrong. I'm not that good.

The last few days of last week were a mad dash at school to get ready for the Equip Christian Ministry conference being hosted by the school. That's where various ministries and organizations set up booths and teach sessions on any topic you can think of regarding christian ministry (not really, but it sounded good). I have the pleasure of working for the two bosses who are responsible for about 80% of the school's prep for the conference. Lucky me. That means when one boss is not busy, the other is, but I get to be busy the entire time (not really, but it sounded good).

What we were busy doing on Wednesday and Thursday was clearing out classrooms of their normal desk (packing them neatly into two rooms like so).

And filling them with rental chairs (higher capacity) like so. What you see here is also my IT hat as the projector was tested and wired so that a presenter can have their laptop or DVD player connected at the front of the room.

My little helper, Josh, was in charge of our walkie talkie and holding down the fort in the IT room with the other geeks who just played Xbox all day waiting for emergency support calls to come in. Eventually, I sent him on a mission to get some pics of the conference room floor. Twas a hopping place.

Above you see Kent replenishing his supplies of Christian romance novels at the booth dedicated 80% to that wonderful genre. Actually, I inspected his book bundle. It was clean.

Feeling a little deserving of a break, both my bosses and our hired help went out to lunch at TGI Fridays with some coupons. You have four choices of who to use your buy one get one free coupon with. A date, a co-worker, a cousin, or all of the above. Boss-man Ken considered me his date, which might sound shocking if 'twern't for the thought implied on the coupon of a co-worker cousin date.

I did get to check out a session by a friend of mine. She was teaching about why those crazy teens do what they do. Thank you Amy!!

you had me all excited that i was going to get to live vicariously from the retreat this weekend. :( my heart is a little broken. sorry to hear your phone was "confiscated" for the weekend... are you sure that wasn't just a ploy so no one would know you dropped it in a toilet and killed it? (j/k) hope all is well. sounds like you've been busy.
